Senior Patternmaker

Melbourne-based | Relocation Support Available (Australia & NZ)

Are you a technically skilled manual patternmaker with experience in premium womenswear? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment where construction complexity and attention to detail are truly valued?
We’re working with one of Australia’s leading fashion houses, known for its elevated aesthetic, directional design, and dedication to craftsmanship. This is an opportunity to work on ambitious collections that demand precision, creativity, and a deep understanding of garment construction.

Why you’ll love this role

You’ll work on garments that challenge the norm, bringing to life complex silhouettes and innovative concepts. The studio environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, giving you the chance to work closely with designers and makers to problem-solve and push design boundaries. Your manual patternmaking expertise will be front and centre, but you’ll also have the opportunity to work with Lectra software – with training on offer if needed. The role is stable, with great long-term potential. If you’re currently interstate or in New Zealand and looking to make a move, relocation support is on the table for the right person.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and refine manual and digital patterns from sketch through to final sample
  • Attend fittings and implement alterations to achieve beautiful fit and finish
  • Create cut instructions and assist with technical documentation
  • Grade patterns for full size sets
  • Work closely with the design, development and production teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively

What we’re looking for

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a senior Manual Patternmaker in high-end womenswear or couture
  • Strong manual patternmaking skills, particularly in draping and structured garments
  • Confident working with complex styles and high-detail finishes
  • Understanding of corsetry and structured design is a plus
  • Experience using Lectra is ideal but not essential – training can be provided
  • A collaborative and solutions-focused approach, with strong communication and a keen eye for proportion
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment

If you’re ready to bring your craftsmanship and technical expertise to one of the most exciting luxury labels in Australia, we’d love to hear from you.
