The Role
  
Ready to lead a retail operation at one of Australia’s busiest airports? We’re searching for a commercially sharp, people-first, sleeves-rolled-up Assistant Manager to take charge of a large-format retail business that blends premium product with fast-paced operations.
  
This is a rare opportunity to join a strong team, in a fast paced multi faceted environment that focuses on leadership, motivation and high energy. 
Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you’ll take full ownership of performance and team culture across this high-profile, high-volume environment.
  
What You Will Be Doing
  
At the Melbourne Airport store, you’ll be at the forefront of a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment, leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional results. Reporting to the Store Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving sales growth, motivating the team, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.

• Leading the daily operations of the store and driving sales against key performance targets including ATV, conversion, and passenger spend rate.
• Coaching, mentoring, and managing a diverse sales team to deliver exceptional customer service and meet individual performance goals.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Visual Merchandising, Compliance, and HR to ensure operational excellence and brand standards are upheld.
• Monitoring sales trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for commercial growth.
• Maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor to lead by example and inspire a customer-first culture.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety, security, and company standards including inventory management, cash handling, and RSA protocols.

About You

You’re a motivated, hands-on retail leader who delivers results through people. With a background in high-volume, customer-first environments, you bring energy, resilience, and sharp commercial instincts to every shift. You thrive in fast-paced settings like airports and love working with global brands and international customers.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a retail leadership role.
• Proven ability to drive sales performance and lead high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to motivate and coach others.
• A focus on operational excellence with the ability to multitask, solve problems, and stay calm under pressure.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• A current RSA certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
